The second major update of 2023 is the major update of August 2023, which started rolling on August 22 and ends on September 7. New and updated key. Google said that "this major update includes a different major system upgrade than last month." Google said its advice on major updates is the same for both.
Updated review coming next week. Google said that the search update will also be available next week. Google said that this will also be "the time when we will no longer provide periodic information about updates to our search system, as they will happen at any time in the future."
Other details. Google has posted a detailed Q&A here, explaining more about the new major updates and upcoming research updates.
Why another major update so soon?
Google said: “We have several measures that are considered important to our ranking system; This month's core update includes a different core system upgrade than last month.
What is the difference between quality improvement and quality control?
Google says: “The ranking system is what we use to rank search results. We use many different grading systems. We have a guide to Google's search engine that describes some of our most famous people. Updates happen when we update the quality system.
What is the update for?
Google said: “We use automated systems to generate search results, and like anything, these are not perfect. We are looking for ways to improve these systems to show better results.
Why are some updates calculated?
Google said: "We try to isolate popular updates, so that if they make changes, site owners can clearly identify which processes are involved. However, given the large number of updates, this is not always possible. Additionally, when an update is reviewed and approved because it will improve search, we don't want to hold it back.
Why is there an update during the holidays?
Google said: "We try to avoid having an update between late November and mid-December whenever possible. But this is not always possible. If we have updates that can improve the search, developed over several months, we release them when they are ready.
What to do if it applies to you. Google has provided some advice on what to consider if a major update has affected you in the past:
There are no specific steps you need to take to recover. A negative ranking effect may not indicate anything wrong with your page.
Google has provided a list of questions to consider if major updates are related to your site. Google said that you may see a slight recovery between major updates, but a major change will occur after the next major update.
Why we think. Every time Google updates its search ranking algorithms, your site can perform better or worse in search results. Knowing when Google makes these updates gives us something to point to in understanding whether this is something you have changed on your website or something Google has changed in its ranking algorithm. Today we know that Google has rolled out an advanced ranking update, so keep an eye on your search and ranking over the coming weeks.
Although anti-spam updates come out at the same time, it can be difficult to separate the updates that affect your site.
